There are plenty of attractions for families to take in at Reptile Gardens. Stroll through our garden oasis of colorful flowers, lush vegetation, and well manicured lawns. Discover a myriad of ornamental trees, tropical plants, orchids, and bromeliads.
Meet our exotic residents! Enjoy a chance encounter with our rare Komodo Dragon and notorious saltwater crocodile, visit our legendary collection of venomous snakes, or pet our gentle giants, the Galapagos and Aldabra Tortoises. We also have a few non-reptilian pets – a majestic Bald Eagle named Cheyenne and a coterie of fun loving Prairie Dogs.
Take in a show – watch the alligators and crocodiles do their thing, learn about snakes, or meet birds from around the world.
Founded in 1937 by our reptile loving patriarch, Earl Brockelsby, Reptile Gardens has steadily grown to one of the most popular South Dakota attractions, drawing crowds from all over the Midwest and beyond. We are the largest reptile zoo in the world, housing more species of reptiles than any other zoo or wild animal park.
